What you'll learn

  • Explain the role of product management and how it differs from project management and engineering leadership.
  • Plan and conduct discovery research with users, customers and stakeholders, and synthesize findings into insights.
  • Frame problems with problem statements, jobs to be done, opportunity solution trees and the Kano model.
  • Prioritize a backlog with RICE, WSJF, MoSCoW and value-versus-effort, and communicate an outcome-based roadmap.
  • Design MVPs and experiments, plan A/B test sample sizes, analyse results and avoid peeking.
  • Run a product team as product owner, with healthy refinement, definitions of ready and done, sprint goals and OKRs.
  • Forecast delivery with flow metrics and throughput Monte Carlo, and release safely with feature flags and staged rollouts.
  • Build a risk-based quality strategy with exploratory charters, severity and priority triage and release readiness checks.
  • Operate a product with SLOs, error budgets, incident response, blameless postmortems and a technical debt budget.
  • Choose and interpret product metrics, including North Star, funnels, cohorts, DAU/MAU, HEART and unit economics.
  • Manage client engagements with statements of work, suitable contract types, change control, IP terms and clear communication.
  • Deliver a product increment responsibly, avoiding dark patterns and meeting accessibility, privacy and AI governance expectations.
