About credentials

These courses teach safety knowledge at an awareness level and award certificates of completion. They do not replace the training your employer must provide for your specific workplace, equipment and hazards, and they are not certifications. Many OSHA standards require site-specific training with practical evaluation (for example, powered industrial trucks, fall protection, lockout/tagout and respirator fit testing), first aid and CPR certification must come from recognized providers such as the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, asbestos work requires accredited training, and OSHA Outreach (10-hour and 30-hour) cards can only be issued by OSHA-authorized trainers.
