What an FLHA is for

A field-level hazard assessment (FLHA) is a quick, written check done at the work location, right before the job starts. In the United States the same idea goes by several names, including a pre-task plan, a job safety analysis (JSA) done in the field, or a tailboard or toolbox talk form. It catches hazards that a general site assessment could not predict: today's weather, a new crew member, equipment that just arrived.

An FLHA is only useful if it describes the job in front of you. A copied form from yesterday protects no one.
